We are looking for:

ATLASSIAN ENGINEER

Type of employment: B2B CONTRACT

Location: Brussels (Belgium)

Temporary employment: PROJECT-BASED CONTRACT (1 year with extension)


Your role:  

The Atlassian Engineer will join the EUSS-IS project, tasked with deploying, testing, and operating the Atlassian Ecosystem, providing diverse functionalities for the European Commission (EC). Services include:

Atlassian to Business (A2B): A customizable Jira/Confluence system with additional components hosted at DIGIT datacentre.

CITnet Service: The EC’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) toolset, offering collaborative tools like SVN, Git, Jira, Fisheye, Crucible, Nexus, Bamboo, and Confluence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Consultancy: Provide guidance to EC development teams as needed, aligning with ITIL processes.
  • Atlassian Maintenance and Configuration:
  • Maintain the Atlassian ecosystem, configure Confluence and Jira.
  • Integrate EC security (EULOGIN), manage plug-ins, handle architecture (logical and physical), perform load testing, application monitoring, and produce operational reports.
  • Plan for new releases and upgrades.
  • Technical Architecture and Implementation:
  • Design and assess technical systems, integrating tools like JMeter, Selenium, PMD, and Findbug.
  • Perform code reviews using Atlassian Crucible.
  • Configure LAMP platforms, administer PostgreSQL, optimize JVM, and automate infrastructure deployment with Rundeck.
  • Documentation and Guidelines:
  • Draft detailed technical documentation for system administrators and end-users.
  • Create guidelines for technical architecture based on EC infrastructure.

Your profile:

  • Core Atlassian Expertise:
    • 3+ years of Jira administration experience.
    • Skilled in installations, upgrades, migrations, and plugin integration for Jira and Confluence.
    • Experience with LDAP authentication integration.
  • Other Required Skills:
    • Proficiency in Linux/UNIX, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, Java/JEE, Perl, Shell, Groovy, SVN, Nexus, Git, and Tomcat.
    • Solid understanding of change, release, and deployment management.
    • Experience in testing and familiarity with tools like ServiceNow (preferred).
  • Certifications and Knowledge:
    • ITIL V4 Foundation certification.
    • Familiarity with European Commission systems is advantageous.
    • Excellent English proficiency.
  • Desired Qualities:
    • Adaptability, analytical skills, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • EU-citizenship required.
